August 2018 Food Events in Moore County, NC

Happy August, everyone! Here are some food events happening around Moore County this month! Let us know what you’re looking forward to the most in the comments.

August 8: USA BBQ Tour at The Sly Fox
The USA BBQ Tour will be at The Sly Fox 4 Wednesdays in August. Featuring Eastern Carolina, Texas, Kansas City and Alabama Style BBQ. Attend all 4 events and receive a $25 gift card. Be sure to pick up your Tour Card and get it stamped!

August 8: Farmstars, The Series at Ashten’s Restaurant
Come to Ashten’s for a casual meet and greet with the farmers and the producers used at Ashten’s. They will speak a little about what they do and you will be able to ask questions and mingle with like-minded locavores! They will be serving hors d’oeuvres utilizing the products they are featuring. Special cocktails and beverages will be available for purchase a la carte.

August 10: Date Night with Scott’s Table and Southern Pines Escape
Dinner and games! Do you like great food? Can you escape? Southern Pines Escape and Scott’s Table have come together to create a special event just for you. Make your reservations early!

August 13: Trinchero Wine Dinner at Elliotts on Linden
Elliotts on Linden is hosting Mr. Scott Stubbs, the national sales director for Trinchero and Ziata (by Karen Cakebread) from Napa Valley and Bravium from the Russian River Valley. It will be a 4 course pairing extravaganza! Be sure to reserve your seat!

August 18: Herbs for Wellness
Explore the benefits and joy of herbs! Herbs have long been used to naturally treat a variety of issues. They each have their own unique properties and benefits for the body. Learn the art and science of brewing a flavorful therapeutic herbal tea that fits your specific needs.

August 19: English Carvery at the The Sly Fox
Come out to the Traditional Sunday Roast at The Sly Fox. Featuring Roast Lamb, Roasted Potatoes Mashed Potatoes with Roasted Carrots and Parsnips, Gravy and Mint Sauce.

August 22: Celebrate the Peach at Elliotts on Linden
Enjoy our 4 Course Menu showcasing Moore County Peaches. Peach Themed Pairing Menu Available. They’ll be bringing the most succulent dishes and cocktails of the season. Fresh, local peaches will be featured in this 4 course-tasting extravaganza!

August 25: Spanish Wine Tasting & Paella Party
Sample 15+ wines from Spain, Argentina and Chile. Local wine expert Ann Galle from Millennium Beverage will be pouring wine and available to answer questions about the vinos at the event. All wines will also be available to purchase at discounted prices and to take home the same day. Chef Ryan Lund has a great menu planned for the event – Chicken and Chorizo Paella and Tapas. Paella is not only the national dish of Spain, but it is also a celebrated dish throughout South America.

August 25: Low Country Seafood Boil w/ Forty Eight Boats at the Railhouse
Forty-Eight boats, a local seafood company, will be at the Railhouse with the freshest Atlantic catches to cook us up a Low Country boil! The Bull Room will be holding their Annual Teacher Appreciation free paint event from noon to 7p. Teachers with school ID can paint something for their classroom absolutely free! Lots of Downtown businesses will have special deals for educators that day as well, and your first beer at Railhouse is free with purchase of food!

August 26: Celebrating August’s Full Sturgeon Moon at Full Moon Oyster Bar & Seafood Restaurant
Celebrate August’s Full Sturgeon Moon by indulging in the Super Moon Platter for two which includes snow crab legs, fresh oysters, shrimp, mussels, clams, scallops, and King Crab!
