When we went to Heartwood at Longleaf Golf & Family Club for lunch, we were fortunate enough to meet Chef Charles Toomer. He was very friendly and recently started at Heartwood after working for notable clients and in gourmet restaurants in California. He now utilizes his French training and his background in nutrition to create healthy and delicious meals at Heartwood.
We had the asparagus soup, clam chowder, the fried chicken bacon sandwich, and the Angus Burger. The portions were sizeable, and everything was very good!
Heartwood is a part of the Longleaf Golf & Family Club, but they’re open to the public. They also have a Sunday brunch buffet, so if you’re looking for a new brunch place, give Heartwood a try.
