There are so many interesting May food events happening all around Moore County. We’ve got Cinco De Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day coming up, so be sure to stop by your favorite local restaurant to see what they’ve got going on on those big days.

May 5: Cinco De Mayo at The Sly Fox Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at The Sly Fox with margarita flights and a taco bar.
May 5: Tap Takeover at Triangle Wine Co in Southern Pines Stop by Triangle Wine Company for a White Street Tap Takeover. They will have five White Street brews on tap for your enjoyment. Come learn about craft beers, enjoy delicious brews, and even take home a six pack or two to enjoy over the weekend.
May 6: Blue & Brews: A Festival at the Farm Enjoy a day at the farm with bluegrass performances by The Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Project, Tommy Edwards Bluegrass Experience, Vickie Vaughn Band, and Hank, Pattie & The Current. Railhouse Brewery and Southern Pines Brewing Company will be on the grounds serving cold beer all day along with Black Rock Vineyards! Chewy’s Smokin’ BBQ, and The Market Place Restaurant will also be available for concessions.
May 6: Nature’s Roots Farm x The Vibe BBQ To celebrate The Vibe being Nature’s Roots Farm newest drop off location, Nature’s Roots Farm will be cooking up farm fresh grass-fed/forest-fed meats! Feel free to bring your friends, family, and your little ones!
May 6: Boy Scouts Pancake Breakfast Enjoy a short stack for a tall cause! Come out to support your local Boy Scouts by purchasing tickets to the pancake breakfast. Tickets will be sold at the door.
May 6: Rhett’s Bourbon Dinner Come to Rhett’s for a four-course meal and live music by Becca Rae. Reservations required.
May 12: Chef & Maker Weekend: Sandhills Pig Pickin’ The kick-off to the Chef & Maker Series weekend featuring Clark Barlowe. Enjoy a menu inspired by Chef Barlowe’s hyper-local philosophy including a pit-cooked whole pig and a variety of classic southern sides, sourced from here in the Sandhills. They will also be serving up beer from Mother Earth Brewing, wine from Bacco Selections and specialty drinks from Doc Porter’s Distillery and Topo Organic Spirits.
May 13: Chef & Maker Weekend: Clark Barlowe Chef Dinner For this special Chef & Maker dinner, Chef Clark Barlowe has crafted a farm-to-fork menu celebrating fresh, seasonal ingredients. Enjoy a globally-inspired four-course meal rooted in his Southern background.
May 15: WOW Annual Strawberry Festival The Women of Weymouth are excited for their annual Strawberry Festival! The Carolina Philharmonic Junior Orchestra will perform at the event this year, so break out your best hat and enjoy this Spring tradition. Enjoy a delicious luncheon and, of course, strawberry shortcake.
May 20: Woodstock ’69 Bar Crawl Get your flower wreaths and bellbottoms – lets party like its 1969. Stops include Belltree, So Pies, Nevilles, Jefferson, and O’Donnells.
May 23: Triangle Wine Co. Wine Tasting First Command will be sampling wine & beer at Triangle Wine Company in Southern Pines on May 23rd! Come out for an evening of fun, good beer and wine, and hors d’ouevres.
May 24: Pop-up Breakfast by The Goodie Jar Healthy, nutrient rich breakfast and snacks for busy families. We are popping up at Java Bean Plantation and Roasting Co.
May 24: Vegetarian Night at Elliotts on Linden Veggie Lovers! Just for you at Elliotts. Enjoy a four-course vegetarian dinner. Please call for reservations. Seating is limited.
May 25: Duskin and Stephens Beef & Beer 2017 hosted by The Bell Tree Tavern The 5th annual Mike Duskin and Riley Stephens Beef and Beer Benefit hosted by The Bell Tree Tavern. Beef and Beer is an annual staple in the Sandhills’ community that celebrates the lives of all fallen Special Operators and their families.
