If you have a barbecue-loving family, try Pik-N-Pig in Carthage. With wood-smoked barbecue done on the premises, a variety of side dishes, and homemade desserts, it’s no surprise that this place is a local favorite. Add outdoor dining overlooking a private airstrip and you have a truly unique North Carolina dining experience. There’s also plenty of room outside for the kids to run around and play.
For a filling meal, visit Vito’s Restaurant. With two locations – one in Pinehurst and one in Southern Pines – it’s a landmark dining establishment serving up fresh and authentic Italian food. You can get your food to-go or eat in, and if you eat in, they have an outdoor seating area for days when the weather is nice.
Chapman’s Food & Spirits in Downtown Southern Pines is open for lunch and dinner, and they’ve got a great menu with a good variety of choices for kids and adults. The atmosphere is fun, the food is flavorful, they have outdoor seating, and they’re generous with their pours (which is good for parents), making it a family favorite.
The kids are sure to have a great time at The Ice Cream Parlor Restaurant in the heart of downtown Southern Pines. In addition to incredible ice cream, they have a great menu with sandwiches, salads, wraps, and more. When the weather is nice, the family can sit outside and take in the sights and sounds of the area.
Char Bar no.7 has a strong menu that offers a wide array of options, great daily specials (Kids’ Meals are only $4 after 4PM on Mondays), and plenty of seating and TVs, this is a great spot for families to enjoy a meal for a deal.
