We went to Chef Warren’s last week to celebrate my (Karen) birthday, and it was a wonderful choice. You can tailor your dining experience to what you are in the mood for, making Chef Warren’s a local favorite for special occasions, as well as for weeknight dinners. In addition to a tapas menu with unique items like the prosciutto wrapped kangaroo, they have a full dinner menu with decadent desserts. My personal favorites are the French Onion Soup, the chocolate mousse, and pecan pie. Mark highly recommends their duck pretty much any way they prepare it.
Our party had a brown sugar fig with mascarpone and prosciutto appetizer, the duck entrée, Black Grouper, Pork Ribeye, a spinach salad, and French Onion Soup. Everyone loved how delicious and filling every menu item we tried was. As a note, the figs and vegetables come out of the Lewis’s garden, and you can definitely taste the boost of flavor that comes from fresh ingredients in the food.
For dessert, we had a Peach Creme brulee and the Yoga Waffle. They have a great cocktail program headed by Marianne Lewis as well as a nice wine list that complements the entrees and the desserts.
If you’re in the mood for fine dining in Southern Pines, you have to try Chef Warren’s Bistro. As an added bonus, after dinner, you can take a stroll through Historic Southern Pines and take in the sights and sounds of the community.
